SPORTSFastball season bites the dust

The outlook is good for the Calgary Outlaws, as athletes Galindo Gomez, Jesus Matos, and Zach Murray were named Players of the Month for May by the Canadian Baseball League.

Third baseman Galindo Gomez earned Player of the Month honours for his impressive eight-game hitting streak and three home runs, leading the league in both categories.

The Pitcher of the Month is Jesus Matos, hailing from San Pedro de Macoris in the Dominican Republic. Matos boasts a 1.88 ERA, with 13 strikeouts, while only surrendering two walks, two runs, and no home runs.

Fellow pitcher Zach Murray was named Canadian Pitcher of the Month, for his very respectable 2.76 ERA.

The Outlaws next home game is June 26 against the London Monarchs, so if you get a hankering for professional sports, head on down to Burns Stadium for some Outlaws action.
