Audrey McLean, a Bachelor of Design in City Innovation student, is the uncontested candidate for the School of Architecture, Planning, and Landscape (SAPL) Faculty Representative position, running for re-election after serving in the position since the spring.
She has extensive experience in the Student’s Union, sitting on several committees and serving as the current Vice-President Students’ Union for the City Innovation Students’ Association (CISA).
She also did work as a FUSION Future Skills partner with the university’s experiential learning endeavours and worked as a Registration Officer for Elections Canada.
McLean’s main priorities revolve around providing and enhancing services for SAPL students as well as advocating for the unique circumstances at the Downtown campus.
Access to services downtown is especially important to McLean, who will advocate for prioritizing and reorganizing services at the satellite campus to better match student needs.
She also advocates for ease of access to resources during the summer and after school hours in light of the technical reliance of the faculty.
Lastly, McLean will resubmit the previously-rejected Quality Money application for more funding for an undergraduate publication and continue her ongoing work on the SAPL photo room.
The Gauntlet reached out to McLean to speak about their platform but she was unable to arrange an interview.
All undergraduate students can vote through their my.ucalgary.ca Student Centre from 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 8. Visit the SU website to read all candidate platforms.
