SU By-Election 2026: Schulich candidate Muhammad Ibrahim Cheema

SU By-Election 2026: Schulich candidate Muhammad Ibrahim Cheema
Because the Candidate did not come in for their interview, the Gauntlet deemed your candidate: MISSING IN ACTION.

Muhammad Ibrahim Cheema is a new candidate running for the role of Faculty Representative in the Schulich School of Engineering.

Cheema reached out to the Gauntlet but did not appear at the arranged interview time.

As Faculty Representative, Cheema wants to ensure that students are being listened to and are being represented fairly. He wants students to come to him with ideas and concerns so that he can bring them to members of student leadership. Through creating these reciprocal relationships, Cheema wants to invite positive change in the Schulich School of Engineering as well as foster a supportive community.

Cheema’s platform is based around connecting students within the Faculty of Engineering. However, his platform does not specify if he will use communication tools, forums and more to connect with students.

All undergraduate students can vote through their my.ucalgary.ca Student Centre from 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 8. Visit the SU website to read all candidate platforms.
