SU By-Election 2026: Social Work candidate Cziniah Manimtim
Because the Candidate did not come in for their interview, the Gauntlet deemed your candidate: MISSING IN ACTION.

Cziniah Manimtim, a fourth-year Bachelor of Social Work student, is running uncontested for the Faculty of Social Work Representative in this year’s SU By-Election.

Since being appointed to the position six months ago, Manimtim has built her platform on being what she calls the “Advocate’s Advocate,” focusing on equipping Social Work students with the resources and support they need in order to carry out their community-centered work.

One of Manimtim’s key goals focuses on creating and enhancing professional development opportunities for Social Work students throughout the course of their degrees. Exposure to professional development opportunities from the beginning of a student’s undergraduate journey is a major factor in her platform.

Manimtim also emphasizes connecting students with holistic wellness resources alongside existing structured wellness safeguards.

Lastly, Manimtim envisions a centralized hub of useful resources accessible to all students. She describes this hub as being available online on D2L, with one portal to connect students to academic, career, wellness and lifestyle assets that aim to enhance the student experience.

The Gauntlet reached out for an interview with Manimtim to discuss her platform points but she did not respond in time.

All undergraduate students can vote through their my.ucalgary.ca Student Centre from 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 to 4 p.m. on Oct. 8. Visit the SU website to read all candidate platforms.
