Think back to your childhood. What was the first vehicle you wanted your parents to buy for you to drive around in?

For me, it was a monster truck. That's not to say I didn't have a normal childhood, but monster trucks always fascinated me--from a young age right up until I realized there was no way in hell I would get one.

Well, Monster Jam is headed to the Saddledome this weekend and those drivers will do what they do best: live out my dreams and show off their stuff from Mar. 5-7. From the first 'Eyeball of the Track' and 'Drop of the Hammer' to the last 'Slap Wheelie' and 'Endo,' it should be full-on excitement. And, as it says on the United States Hot Rod Association website, "though monster trucking has changed over the years, one thing remains the same--it's still the biggest, baddest and meanest beast on the block."

Mount Royal volleyball

When it comes to women's volleyball, it seems the University of Calgary Dinos are not the only powerhouse around. The Mount Royal Cougars' women dominated the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference, taking top spot. Not only did they take first overall, they did so with a remarkable record, not losing a match throughout the regular season or the playoffs. They will now head to Etobicoke, Ontario, to vie for the national title Mar. 11-14.

Roughnecks ain't so shitty

After being royally bent over by the San Jose Stealth Sat., Feb. 21, the Roughnecks bounced back with unusual vigor, thumping the Vancouver Ravens, 14-7 Fri., Feb. 27 and the Arizona Sting, 14-4 Sun., Feb. 29.

Kaleb Toth and Lewis Ratcliff were the powerhouses behind Friday night's win with six points each, while Jason Wulder led the Roughnecks with five points against the Ravens on Sunday night. They head to San Jose to face the Stealth once again Sat., Mar. 13.
